Psilocybin Truffle Microdosing
What is Microdosing?
Microdosing involves taking about 1% of a standard drug dose, a concept borrowed from the pharmaceutical industry. Psilocybin truffles are a natural source of psilocybin, a psychoactive substance that, once ingested, converts to psilocin. Psilocin interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain, specifically activating 5-HT2A receptors in the prefrontal cortex.
How It Works
By disrupting the default mode network (DMN) — the brain region associated with self-referential thoughts and mind-wandering — microdosing can shift focus to the present moment and alter patterns of thought. This interaction with the brain's connectivity may enhance overall well-being.
