Calea zacatechichi 50G dried leaves

€12,95
Calea Zacatechichi, better known as dream herb or bitter grass, is part of the Asteraceae family and therefore related to sunflowers and daisies. In the wild, dream herb grows in Mexico and parts of Central America. This medium-sized shrub with trumpet-like yellow flowers is also called Thle-pelakano in Mexico, which means 'leaf of god'. Calea zacatechichi was traditionally used by Mexican shamans to receive divine messages during their dreams.

Effects
Calea is mainly associated with vivid and lucid dreams. The herb can also help induce 'lucid dreams'. A lucid dream is essentially a dream in which you are aware that you are dreaming. In the waking state, dream herb gives a languid effect and creates a heightened state of consciousness.

Usage
Pour half a liter of hot water over 3 to 25 grams of dried leaves and let it steep for about 15 minutes. Since the taste is quite bitter, some sugar or honey can be added. The powder variant can also be capsuled. Calea zacatechichi can be taken before bedtime, but works best if you take it after about 3-4 hours of sleep (set your alarm), and then continue sleeping. Dreams last longer in the last half of the night. Repeat for several days (3 to 7) for even better results.

Active substances
Calea contains a large amount of flavones and sesquiterpene lactones. Both are organic compounds found in many plants. Two sesquiterpene lactones are probably responsible for the mind-expanding effect, namely kaleicin and calechromene.
